“Should they stay or should they go?”

Christina Siganidou wrote and produced a documentary for the byzantine antiquities found at Venizelou metro station.
“A Byzantine treasure is in danger. A group of people are struggling to save it.”

Our lens follows the efforts of the Citizens Movement of Thessaloniki in their struggle to overturn the governmental decision mandating the breaking up and removal of the antiquities that have been discovered during the construction works for the Venizelos Metro station in Thessaloniki city centre. The course of our journey runs 15 months from the foundation of the Movement until Christmas 2020.
